I remember as a kid loving the smell of Noxzema® Original Deep Cleansing Cream. I'd slather that white creamy stuff on over and over again.
That was junior high
Then in high school hormones, pimples, and lots of cool commercials led me to believe that Clean & Clear® was where it was at.
None of it really worked on my face, or else my pimples and blemishes were just the super human kind. I could never find the right product to balance out my oily chin, dry flaking nose, and blemish ridden forehead. Truth be told with the hormones of pregnancy and well... just being a woman, I still get some unsightly blemishes. It is what it is.
When I landed in college I started doing research on skin care and I learned a lot. I learned you need a good gentle cleanser, something to help remove build up (a toner, astringent, or scrub) , a daily moisturizer with SPF, and an evening deep moisturizer. These days I pretty much feel that you get what you pay for. My skin is important to me so it isn't out of the ordinary for me to pay 50 dollars for some moisturizer. *GASP* I knooooow that is some coin, y'all. Seriously. I do... but I want high quality ingredient without all the nasty additives and I want it to work! SO I pay for quality.
I have to live in this skin for the rest of my life and I am trying hard to avoid looking like this guy. Even HE doesn't want to look like him.
So when Collective Bias pitched the idea to participate in a shopper insight with Shinto Clinical by Kimora Lee Simmons, I jumped on board! I love trying new products and I have a lady crush on Kimora Lee Simmons.
I was immediately impressed with the fresh looking women who were a variety of colors on her site! Also all the herbs, flowers, and food ingredients drew me and made me think this line was going to have quality ingredients.
I currently use a mish mash of products depending on the season and how my skin is cooperating.
I have a particular fondness for Dr. Perricone's Cosmecueticals even though his face kind of freaks me out...
His products are gentle and effective and I ADORE his awesome bottles!
I documented my Shinto Clinical path to purchase HERE on my Google+ album
Overall I really liked Shinto Clinical by Kimora Lee Simmons. All of the products have wonderful RECOGNIZABLE ingredients with names that have personality. I tried out "Micro Manage" as I considered it befitting of my anal retentive personality.
The product had an abrasive ingredient that was a bit uncomfortable, but once I washed it off it revealed great results.
Shinto Clinical is what I would call "grown up skin care". Put down those Clearasil® pads ladies and gents! Our skin evolves and so should our skincare!
